There are thousands of problems that children have and hypnotherapy is proven that can help with that. The children's are actually one of my favorite clients!
Almost every child from age 5 to 10-12 has a very high imagination. They try to imitate superheroes or wear costumes from their favorite hero, playing and imitating a character from a cartoon, movie, or kid tv show they watched.
Some of the children have stressful events in their life, like bullying, fighting with their siblings, or any traumatic event that can cause chronic stress, anxiety, and bad habits.
To not be surprised that a very large number of childhood problems are coming from unresolved emotional and stressful events in their life. A lot of children suffer from Asthma, and they are anxious, lack confidence, and are very dependent on one of the parents.
Children are very different from adults, and they actually need fewer sessions than adults need. But let's not forget that it also depends on the children's concertation and state. When you work with children you always surprise yourself so I need to be as flexible as possible. Children need around 4-5 sessions depending on the problem.
Bedwetting is resolved in 2 to 3 sessions, also some bad habits as nail-biting, or thumb sucking can be also resolved in around 3 sessions. But, the other habits and problems as anxiety, hyperactivity, concentration issues, anger management, getting on with siblings, allergies, etc... can take more than 3 sessions. For any information you need regarding your child, you can contact us HERE.
The minimum age for hypnotherapy is 5 years old, children from age of 5 are starting to understand more the world around them, and, also are getting more emotional about anything, there are things you cannot imagine that a child can get emotional for. So age 5 is the earliest you can start with hypnotherapy for you child.
Bedwetting is something shameful no matter what age you are. When children start to understand the world around them, something as bedwetting is a huge embarrassment and shame. That's why hypnotherapy is here to help your child with bedwetting problems.
Hypnotherapy can help your child understand how to train their mind and body to wake up when it's time to use the toilet and work through their emotional issues causing this problem (regression), wetting the bed.
Maybe even you or at least one of your friends from your childhood had a bedwetting problem, and if someone from the school finds out about you or your friend's bedwetting problem everyone would make fun of you right? Imagine what that does to you or anyone that age, emotionally breaking you down, leaving an emotional scar.
You probably say to yourself now, I don't even remember someone like that, so it should not be a big problem. This is where you are wrong, some emotional scars are so deep that can change a person's personality without knowing. Almost all people have deep scars that somehow changed their life in a way they don't even understand.
As we know everyone not only children has phobias and fears of something, a traumatic scene that caused this or some other specific fear. Most common thing children fear is the dark, insects or water.
But do not worry, fear is something good to have, that's the natural path of our nature, but can fear be cured?
Fear is something we all have inside ourselves, that's in our human nature, it dates back thousands of years. But children at an early age experience fear in a different way, it's their dominant part of their awareness and attention, an irrational response that is not beneficial to their lives.
This kind of fear can prevent your child from trying and experiencing new things, going to new places and slowly creating a feeling of anxiety.
We heal fear and phobias using hypnotherapy and it's proven good, thankfully all fears and phobias can be healed through hypnotherapy. Once your child's mind accepts a new response to the situation, the fear slowly is getting reduced and eliminated completely.
Thumb sucking is a common habit among children.
Babies have that natural rooting and sucking reflexes, which causes them to put their thumbs or fingers into their mouths.
Thumb sucking makes your baby feel secure. Some babies might eventually develop the habit of thumb sucking when they need soothing or before going to sleep.
There is no proof that tells when your baby should stop sucking their thumb, babies usually stop sucking their thumb at different ages, often by age 6 or 6-7 months. Sometimes between ages 2 and 4, so you can't exactly know when they will stop.
Some children's even after they stop sucking their thumbs, might go back to the behavior during stressful events.
To be honest, thumb sucking isn't usually a big concern, that's until your child's permanent teeth come in. After your child's teeth grow it might begin to affect the roof of the mouth (palate) or how your child's teeth will line up. Then is when you should wonder about your child's dental problems, and how often (intensely) your child sucks on his or her thumb.
For some children, this thumb sucking is a very difficult habit to let go of. So you should not worry too much because putting pressure on them to stop sucking their thumb might only delay the process.
Hypnotherapy for stop thumb sucking is extremely helpful, because it deals directly into changing the automatic habit in the unconscious part of the child's mind. During my sessions I found that some of my clients slip into a light state (trance) when they suck their thumb, so by definition they are very good hypnotic subjects.
This is really good indication that this habit can be addressed successfully through the use of hypnosis.
Nail-biting is a very bad habit, and it's most frequently associated with stress or anxiety. Your child has identified negative behavior as something that soothes their discomfort or helps them in some other way—even if they are actually causing themselves pain while doing it.
In some cases, nail-biting can lead to very bad physical harm in your child, with varying levels of self-harm inflicted by themselves.
Because of all this hypnotherapy can be very useful, because hypnotherapy identifies the underlying bad pattern that can change the way your child responds to. In some cases, it can even help your child identify the source of their trigger that leads to the nail-biting in the first place, and figure out how to best avoid these triggers so it doesn't happen in the future.
Feel free to contact me for any questions regarding these problems.
Insomnia or getting less sleep is a bad habit and not only harmful to children but also is a bad habit and very harmful for adults as well. Getting less sleep or insomnia affects your health and biorhythm in a very bad way.
Losing sleep can impair y our body's ability to fight off illness, and that makes you get sick easier.
Some researches uncovered a reciprocal relationship between sleep and your immune system. That means that you can also lose additional sleep while your body fights off a bug if you get sick and haven't had enough shut-eye.
Your child sleep issues can also last well into adulthood, from insomnia to anxiety and overthinking.
But don't worry, because hypnotherapy is designed to help one reach a relaxed state, some people including children may fall into the same brain wave state as sleep during their session, and this is perfectly acceptable, even wonderful—it means your child is on the right track to getting the sleep they need. Poor sleep habits in children can lead to crabbiness, anger, lack of focus, and hyperactivity. It is important for children to create lasting good habits for sleep.
